The amusement park under the franchise of the Finnish company Rovio in St. Petersburg is one of the few indoor theme parks in Russia, and at the opening — the only one. Our team has developed working documentation on the project of the American Bureau of JRA (Jack Rouse Associates, Ohio). About 40 contractors and suppliers were involved in the implementation of the park, with an area of 4,500 sq.m. and a ceiling height of 11 meters, in addition to their own production of fiberglass decorations. Our team has built 8 themed zones, 4 rooms for children’s parties, a cafe and a company store. The team’s tasks were complex: the supply and installation of decorations, attractions, furniture, decoration of walls, floors and ceilings. Individual unique attractions were supplied by the Customer — we also coordinated our own drawings of decorations and furniture with these contractors. But the most interesting were the coordination of the layouts of the characters. The art director of Rovio with a marker pointed out changes in the models of the characters, which were corrected by sculptors or CNC machines. An important feature was the developed patterns of repetitive scenery. For example, 4 different types of rocks were developed. Fiberglass products are removed according to the matrix, so it is advantageous to produce products in mass circulation. Having developed 3-5 patterns of 2x3m sheets, the sheathing was carried out locally with sealing of seams and painting by artists. Polyester resin of our own production was used for the decorations with the passage of expertise and tests with mandatory certification. Wooden products were impregnated with a special composition with all the necessary certificates of quality and safety. A passport and operating instructions have been developed for each of the attractions with the passage of an independent examination from the Customer. Many decorations and attractions were tested by adult workers, loading the rides to the limit and conducting real crash tests. Ceiling mounts were tested by a laboratory with a suspension of 200 to 400 kg per point. The entire ceiling is decorated with fiberglass clouds – products ranging in size from 3 to 6 meters. The glowing sun with a diameter of 7 meters deserves special attention. The frame is made of aluminum with the installation of winches for the maintenance of LED strips. Completed and functioning successfully.
